Jere Mikael Pöyhönen is a Finnish rapper, and singer, who began making music in the mid 2010s.
He first started to gain attention in Finland through independent release and his debut album Fantastista. He became internationally famous when he performed at Eurovision with the song 'cha-cha-cha', the song finish second, but won the public vote, and became a hit across Europe.
The impressive thing about this song is that you don't need to understand Finnish to know how the song is telling a story.
The pounding drums, distorted sense, and metal guitar, almost create a feeling of being trapped in a sort of stressful type routine. As this song progresses it turns more into the classic euro dance sound, and sort of goes from anxiety to freedom. from a production standpoint it's controlled chaos.
Käärijä Himself described the song as about freedom and not carrying about other people's opinions.
You don't have to be from Finland or understand the language to really enjoy this song, it's definitely a song that I would expect to find in a dance bar or at any kind of dance party, as it should be as it is about just letting go and letting loose.
I personally recommend this to anyone, who enjoys this type of music, I think that the hard hitting feel of the music really achieves at school and it allows you to just kind of relax and let go, and just be yourself. I think that is something that all of us really would like to do in life.
